LEADWOOD, MO (Show Me Live) – A staff member for the West St. Francois County R-IV School District has been arrested. The St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office has not revealed details on the arrest, but the school district has released a statement, confirming the news.

“We want to make you aware of a situation involving a staff member at West County R-IV School District. Earlier today, law enforcement officials arrested the staff member on campus during after school hours in connection with a matter that occurred outside of school and unrelated to their duties within the school or any of our students,” Superintendent Levi Rawson shares.

He continues, “While we are limited in what we can share due to privacy laws and the ongoing investigation, we want to emphasize that this incident does not involve student safety, and there is no known threat to our school community.”

Rawson confirms the staff member will not be on campus while the matter is under investigation. The district is cooperating with authorities.

Show Me Live spoke with Sheriff Crites who confirms no charges will be filed against the staff member.
